What a day we had – starting up at Yozaimon with shockingly good Goshiki. Clair bought a “bling bling” special. This sandan gin rin is just divine with a cheeky blacknose to develop – a real class Koi. I then just could not resist a subtle, oozing with potential, Gin Rin Showa that has so much promise for the future which I am bringing home to enjoy the slow rise of the sumi to the surface.
Mid morning we saw the return of the harvest from the Angel Fountain pond with some really serious Sanke and Showa up to 87cm.
Nogami had harvested the last of Donald’s Kohaku – a remarkable 74cm Inazuma. I bought this when it was tosai and have grown if for 3 years. It looks wonderful but is staying another year to put on more volume. Donald had another couple growing with Nogami that have really produced the goods this summer and will go another summer season. It is such a joy when grown on fish dont just match but wildly exceed your expectations – its also a massive relief!
Champion mud pond tomorrow.
Mmmmm That Inazuma will do for me Geoff, I’ll remortgage the wife 🙂
